Charlotte Chapter presents grant to The Bulb

Members of the Charlotte Chapter of Fifty Fabulous Women Giving Circle, a community of philanthropic women who combine their financial strength to improve the lives of women and children in the Greater Charlotte, North Carolina area, awarded a grant in the amount of $1,700 to The Bulb.

Almost 15% of households in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina are experiencing food insecurity, and a full 185,000 of those residents live in what is defined as a “food desert.” Compounding the problem is the fact that more than 50% of Mecklenburg County residents don’t have reliable access to transportation. The Bulb is working to create a world where food is a right and not a privilege while seeking social justice through affordable and attainable food, art, and community.
