Buffalo Chapter presents grant to the Ovarian Cancer Project

The Buffalo Chapter of Fifty Fabulous Women Giving Circle, a community of philanthropic women who combine their financial strength to improve the lives of women and children in Erie and Niagara counties in New York, presented its second grant in the amount of $2,900 to the Ovarian Cancer Project.

The circle’s founder, Lisa LaTrovato, MBA, the Director of Development at Hauptman-Woodward Medical Research Institute, presented the check to Kathleen Maxian, the Project's founder.

Founded in 2012, the Ovarian Cancer Project's mission is to provide education on the symptoms and risk factors of ovarian cancer and to provide supportive services to women with ovarian and gynecologic cancer and their families. Maxian, who was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2009, founded the group in response to a need for local support and evidence based information for women with ovarian and gynecologic cancer, their families and friends.
